Due to Dublin moving to Level 3 restrictions and new limits on travel, some late spots have opened up for the 2020 Newry, Mourne & Down Trophy which is going ahead as planned from September 29-October 1.
Open to ladies and gents and played over three of the regions best golf courses, the Newry, Mourne and Down Trophy is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in Ireland and finishes with a flourish on the fairways at Royal County Down.
The tournament is played at Warrenpoint Golf Club (Day 1), Ardglass Golf Club (Day 2) and the final day is at the famed Royal County Down Golf Club. The €275 event entry fee includes 3 days of golf, daily and overall prizes in gents, ladies and seniors categories and all players also receive dining vouchers at either Warrenpoint or Ardglass and for dinner at the Slieve Donard Hotel during the week.
In the year of the staycation, this particular offering is any golfer’s dream, boasting excellent value for money and a great way to meet fellow enthusiasts of the ancient club and ball game.
It’s also great fun to participate in and with a total prize fund in excess of £3,000 including daily prizes for category winners and overall cumulative prizes, there is the opportunity to enjoy some great golf, great ‘craic’ and relax in the friendly surroundings of the Newry, Mourne & Down District.
The event is run on a singles stableford format which combines daily and cumulative scoring to decide the eventual overall champions.
On the final day, ALL participants will take to the Championship Links at Royal County Down which has been called by many the best golf course in the world….so what’s not to like!
