With only three qualifying events remaining on the Irish Golfer Events calendar for the season there are now limited opportunities for you to participate or influence your position on the FLOGAS Order of Merit. This week we’re heading to Powerscourt Golf Club (East) on Sunday 27th of September and then on to Ardglass on October 2nd followed by the final qualifying event of the year at Tralee on October 12th.
There are still times available at Powerscourt and Ardglass and you can CLICK HERE for booking for all the remaining events for the year and the prices are shown on the website.
For all events the main categories for prizes are; Men up to 11 Playing Handicap, Men 12-24 Playing Handicap and Ladies up to 36 Playing Handicap and now iGolf is listed separately with the prizes on offer there correlated to the number of players in the category on the day. There’s also the added bonus of Nearest the Pin competitions sure to test your wits and a Best Gross prize for the low handicappers.
As ever, competitions are singles stableford and are open to all players with a Golf Ireland handicap index. With 14 guaranteed prize winners sharing over €5,000 worth of prizes at each event, don’t miss your chance to be part of Ireland’s largest amateur golf series. Three category winners from each event will also qualify for the Grand Final where we will crown our Irish Golfer Champion for 2026. There is an MLR in place to ensure fairness across the season too and you can check that out HERE.
If you don’t qualify for the Grand Final as one of the category winners from the events automatically, you can still qualify through the FLOGAS Order of Merit. Your best five scores across the year will be counted and the the Moyvalley Team event allocates 36 points to each player for the OoM. At the end of the season, the Top 25 players not already qualified for the Grand Final will also win a place at the Grand Final 2026.
The FLOGAS Order of Merit will also decide the Grand Champion for 2026, with the Grand Final event scores added to your qualifying Order of Merit tally, so consistency and ability across the season will be rewarded!
