Anna Abom’s two-under round of 70 sees her best placed of the three Irish women to make the 36-hole cut at the European Ladies’ Amatuer Championship in Sweden as Hannah Lee McNamara and Kate Dillon join her for round three.

The Edmondstown starlet opened with a three-over 75 in round one at Allerum Golf in Sweden, but climbed 39 places thanks to a steady round that featured three birdies and one bogey and at one-over overall, she lies tied for 17th and seven off the lead.

Royal Portrush’s Lee-McNamara was inside the top 10 after a 70 in round one but could only manage a five-over 77 on day two and fell to T28, while Kate Dillon struggled to an eight-over 80 after an opening 72 and she made the 36-hole cut on the number but has a lot of work to do to push her way inside the top 60 and ties who will advance to contest Saturday’s fourth and final round.

Denmark’s Alvilda Julia Wieberg’s matching rounds of 69 give her a one-stroke advantage at the top at six-under, with Austria’s Katharina Zeilinger in solo second at -5.
