Arnotts, the iconic department store, today announced its headline sponsorship of the prestigious East of Ireland Men’s Amateur Open Championship, taking place at County Louth Golf Club, Baltray, from 29–31 May 2026.

This partnership marks the official launch of Golf at Arnotts, bringing together premium golf apparel, lifestyle and in-store experience. With a heritage deeply rooted in Irish retail since 1843, Arnotts has long held a connection with golf. In the 1990s, the store was home to one of Dublin city’s largest golf departments, serving as a destination for golfers from across Ireland. Today, that legacy returns with a renewed focus, bringing together style and performance for today’s golfer.

The tournament, held annually at the renowned links course at Baltray, is one of the most storied events in Irish amateur golf, attracting the country’s top amateur talent each year, with past competitors including some of Ireland’s greatest golfing names, and carrying a proud tradition stretching back decades. The Golf at Arnotts campaign will extend beyond the course, featuring a dedicated in-store golf destination, a curated selection of leading golf apparel brands including Peter Millar and RLX Ralph Lauren Golf, and, from June, the addition of McGuirks Golf, further enhancing Arnotts as a leading golf retail destination.

The roll of honour at the East of Ireland reads like a who’s who of Irish golfing greatness. Among the most celebrated past champions are the legendary J.B. Carr, who won the title multiple times across the 1940s, 50s and 60s and remains one of the most iconic figures in Irish amateur golf, a dominant force throughout the 1960s, and Darren Clarke of Dungannon, who claimed the title in 1989 before going on to become a Major champion and Ryder Cup hero.

Commenting on the partnership, 2026 Club Captain Mark Briscoe said: “As Captain of County Louth Golf Club it is my distinct pleasure to announce Arnotts as our new East of Ireland sponsor for the next 3 years.

“Arnotts is an iconic retail brand first opening in 1843. As Ireland’s oldest department store it is a perfect partner to one of Irelands oldest and prestigious championships – The East of Ireland at Co. Louth Golf Club.”

Alma Hanley, General Manager, Arnotts, added: “Golf has long been an important part of the Arnotts heritage. Alongside our leading golf fashion brands, we are delighted to be opening a new dedicated golf shop this July in partnership with McGuirks Golf, as we continue to enhance our offering for customers and golf enthusiasts alike.

Our headline sponsorship of the East of Ireland Men’s Amateur Open Championship reflects Arnotts’ long-standing commitment to Irish sport and our association with one of the country’s most respected amateur tournaments. We are proud to support this year’s championship and to play a part in celebrating the sport and its enduring appeal.”

The East of Ireland Men’s Amateur Open Championship takes place at County Louth Golf Club, Baltray, from 29–31 May 2026. Entry information and further details will be made available through the club in due course.
