Beth Coulter (Kirkistown Castle) and Áine Donegan (Lahinch) have been selected to represent Great Britain and Ireland again at the Vagliano Trophy later this month.
Both players were part of the historic 10½-9½ Curtis Cup success at Sunningdale in September, where GB&I won for the first time in eight years. The duo also previously linked up for the Vagliano Trophy in Scotland two years ago.
Maria Dunne and Deirdre Walsh have been reappointed to lead the GB&I Vagliano and Junior Vagliano Trophy teams in the Netherlands from 27-28 June.
“I am delighted for both Beth and Áine as our experienced Irish team members who once again represent GB&I at the Vagliano Trophy and both players were part of the triumphant Curtis Cup team in 2024,” said Dunne.
“I have every confidence in our team’s ability, spirit, and resilience and I look forward to this special week in Royal Hague GC.”
The leading player on the World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR®), Lottie Woad, will spearhead the GB&I side. Dunne also includes Woad’s fellow Curtis Cup players Hannah Darling and Patience Rhodes in her line-up.
Isla McDonald-O’Brien, who reached the quarter-finals of last week’s Women’s Amateur in Nairn, is also named. Sophia Fullbrook and Nellie Ong also make their first appearances.
“Our team is full of talent, drive, and experience, and I’m excited to help them bring out their best,” said Dunne.
“It’s an incredible honour to be named captain of the Great Britain and Ireland team for the 2025 Vagliano Trophy.
“Representing GB&I is always a special achievement, but to lead such a talented group of players on this stage is a true privilege.”
Senior Irish international Walsh again leads the GB&I girls’ team for the Junior Vagliano Trophy, being held at Royal Hague Golf & Country Club at the same time.
