Olivia Costello is heading into the women’s championship season in red hot form after she cruised to the Pinergy Woodbrook Scratch Cup title on Monday.
Costello adds the Woodbrook crown to her Triple A Series World Final title in Spain and with the way she is going it won’t be her last piece of silverware.
The Roscommon teenager fired rounds of 73, 73 and 71 for a five-under total which was good enough for a five shot victory over Clandeboye’s Jessica Ross and Romford’s Zoe McLean-Tattan.
County Sligo’s Maebh McLoughlin claimed solo fourth on one-over after round of 74, 73 and 76 while Kate Lanigan rounded off the top five on seven-over.
Meanwhile, in the US, the regional championships got underway with Áine Donegan and Beth Coulter headlining the Irish in action.
At the NCAA Columbus Regional, Donegan’s LSU team are in third place with the Lahinch woman sharing 17th place in the individual standings.
Marina Joyce-Moreno’s Ohio State side led by three shots on nine-under.
Coulter’s ASU side are top of the leaderboard at the NCAA Gold Canyon Regional on two-under-par with Coulter sharing 23rd place overall.
