The final events of the AIG Cups and Shield All-Ireland Finals began on Thursday at Limerick GC. Both men and women were in action with the AIG Women’s Intermediate Cup Quarter-Finals the first to take to the course, followed by the AIG Men’s Pierce Purcell Shield Quarter-Finals.

K Club’s 3-2 win over Banbridge in the AIG Women’s Intermediate Cup was the tightest match of the day, with three of the five games reaching the 18th. Royal Tara, K Club, Loughrea and Athy advance to Friday’s semi-finals, after all four clubs won their respective Quarter-Finals 3-2.

In the AIG Men’s Pierce Purcell Shield, Westmanstown and Nenagh both recorded 4-1 wins over Cruit Island and Royal Curragh respectively. The two clubs will be joined by Elm Park and Thurles in Friday’s Semi-Finals in what will be an all-Dublin and all-Tipperary Semi-Final.

Friday sees the start of the AIG Women’s Junior Cup Quarter-Finals, with the Semi-Finals of the AIG Women’s Intermediate Cup and the AIG Men’s Pierce Purcell Shield taking place.
