Ulster (Women) and Leinster (Men) top the table going into Day 2 of the 2021 Interprovincial Championships at Shannon GC.

Ulster were the biggest winners of the day in the Women’s competition, defeating Leinster 6-3. Despite sharing the six singles games, Ulster won all three matches in the morning session, including a 6&5 win for Rebekah Gardner and Katie Poots against Rachel McDonnell and Leah Temple Lang.

Munster have a 5.5-3.5 win over Connacht. Winning four of the six singles games proved crucial for Munster, and included a 5&4 win for Clodagh Coughlan against Annabel Greham. Thursday Women’s ties sees Ulster face Connacht, with Leinster meeting Munster.

Leinster top the table in the Men’s competition, after a 7-4 win over Munster on Day 1. Going unbeaten in the morning foursomes proved crucial with Leinster winning 3.5 out of a possible 4 points. Three 3&2 wins showed their dominance in the format as the teams shared the 7 points available in the afternoon singles.

The closest tie of the day saw Connacht defeat Ulster 6-5. Sharing the 4 points in the morning foursomes, singles wins for Jack McDonnell, David Kitt and Simon Walker saw the Westerners earn the opening day win.

Thursday’s Men’s ties sees Leinster face Ulster with Connacht meeting Munster.
