One of the most competitive and enjoyable amateur golf tournaments returns to Ireland in 2021 and you have two chances left to be part of it.

Castlewarden Golf Club and Dundrum House Hotel will play host to two qualifiers this month ahead of the National Final on Tuesday, June 29 at Glasson Golf Club. Then all roads point to Glasson Lakehouse for the Grand Final of this year’s International King’s Cup from August 3-6.

To be in with a chance to represent Ireland against this year’s United States side, pairs of ladies and gents are encouraged to take their chance at qualifying with Castlewarden hosting first up on Thursday, June 17 and Dundrum all set for Monday, June 21.

The International Kings Cup is a three-day 54-hole amateur match play pairs tournament structured like the Ryder Cup. It was formed in 2016 and is played in honour of golf’s greatest ambassador, Mr Arnold Palmer.

It’s a pairs event like no other and is unique in that there are four flights of handicap and within each flight two teams will qualify under two age brackets 18+ and Seniors 55+. Each pair must have no more than 8 shots between their handicaps. Total each other’s handicap to find out what category (flight) you fall into.

The event is open to any two-person team with a verifiable Golf Ireland Handicap and is unique as each flight has an Open Age Category and a Senior Category within each flight and there are 4 Flights. So whether you are a scratch golfer or a 20 handicap golfer you have equal opportunity to qualify to represent Team Ireland.

TO BOOK: To book into a qualifier, contact the golf clubs directly and ask to book the International King’s Cup Qualifier or book directly through each clubs website.

ENTRY FEE: Members €35pp / £35pp. Visitors €50pp / £50pp. All players must hold a current Golf Ireland handicap.

T&C’s: The winning pairs from each age bracket within each flight will represent Ireland at Glasson. Team will assemble at Glasson Lakehouse and stay there for four nights (Tuesday 3rd to 7th August 2021). Team uniforms will be supplied for match days. 4 rounds of golf will be played at Glasson GC and two gala dinners will take place during the week. Each member of the Ireland team will receive a tailored Golf Bag and Push Cart from Bag Boy. NATIONAL FINAL €50 PER PERSON ENTRY FEE. Other terms and conditions apply.
