Rounds of 68 and 70 leaves Dubliner Rowan Lester with a three stroke lead heading into the third round of the Connacht Stroke Play Championship at Portumna Golf Club.

The penultimate event in the Bridgestone Order of Merit, the Murray Timber Group sponsored tournament sees Malone’s Matthew McClean three shots back on -3 with the current Bridgestone Order of Merit leader Alan Fahy a stroke further back on -2 alongside Kilkenny’s Mark Power.

The top 39 and ties made the cut on +8 with the third round underway on Sunday morning at 7.30am and the final round off at 12.15pm.
