Special Olympics Ireland has teamed up with charity partner, Gala Retail to launch the first virtual-golf fundraising tournament!
They’re inviting golfers from across Ireland to get together a team of four players and tee-off for this special fundraising event that will help Special Olympics Ireland support more than 8,000 athletes across the country.
‘Make your round count’ by signing up and booking a tee time during the week of 19th – 26th July. There are lots of prizes up for grabs including a golf getaway for four people, the chance to play a four-ball with former Irish international rugby star, Keith Wood at Portmarnock Golf Club and four-balls at some of Ireland’s top golf courses as well as €600 worth of vouchers for McGuirks Golf.
WHAT’S INVOLVED?
This is a four-person team event based on the ‘Stableford’ scoring system.
- Register your team of four at www.specialolympics.ie and pay the registration fee of €300/£280 (all funds will go directly so Special Olympics Ireland).
- Book a tee time at the golf club of your choice for the tournament week which is Sunday 19th July to Sunday 26th July
- Record your teams’ top two scores from each hole on your score card, with the top 4 scores counted from the 18th
- Submit your score card for the chance to win one of the top prizes on offer
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Once registered you will be a sent confirmation email with details on how to record and submit your scores, information on prizes and an interview with our own Special Olympics gold-medal winning golfer, Mark Claffey, as well as details of the end of tournament prize-giving event.
