SEVE Collection has launched ‘The Heart of SEVE’, the first release from its limited Shield Collection created for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor.
Unveiled with a year to go before the opening tee shot in Ireland, the collection places Seve Ballesteros at the heart of its design, both symbolically and physically.
On each item, Seve’s iconic silhouette sits discreetly behind the official Ryder Cup emblem, close to the heart when the garment is worn. The detail will feature throughout SEVE Collection’s Ryder Cup range of polos, mid-layers and headwear as a tribute to one of the defining figures in Europe’s Ryder Cup history.
The concept was inspired by the team at the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, where Europe’s players wore garments marked internally with a tribute to Seve, a gesture now reinterpreted as a subtle signature across the 2027 capsule. Beneath every Ryder Cup emblem, lives the heart of Seve.
‘The Heart of SEVE’ is the first of three Shield Collection drops planned in the build-up to Adare Manor in September 2027.
This first drop tells the story of Seve the player: the heart and passion, the flair, instinct and fierce competitive edge that characterised his golf and helped transform Europe’s fortunes in the Ryder Cup.
Ballesteros played in eight Ryder Cups after Great Britain & Ireland became Europe in 1979, forming one of the competition’s most celebrated partnerships with José María Olazábal and helping Europe turn the tide against the United States.

He was part of the European team that ended a 28-year wait for victory in 1985 and, two years later, helped secure Europe’s first Ryder Cup victory on American soil at Muirfield Village. A decade later in 1997, he captained Europe to victory at Valderrama in the first Ryder Cup staged in continental Europe.
Sebastian Billing, CMO at SEVE Collection, said: “The Heart of Ryder Cup is about putting Seve exactly where we believe he belongs. The hidden icon behind the Ryder Cup emblem is a small detail, but it carries the whole idea of the collection.
“This first drop is about Seve the player – the heart, the instinct, imagination and competitive fire people remember when they think of him in the Ryder Cup. We wanted the collection to carry that connection without overstating it.”
SEVE Collection is an Official Licensee of the 2027 Ryder Cup, which will mark 100 years since the first match was played in 1927.
Isabella Pidgley, Head of Retail and Licensing, Ryder Cup Europe, said: “Seve Ballesteros occupies a unique place in the European Ryder Cup story. His influence can still be felt in the identity and emotion surrounding the European team, which makes the ‘Heart of SEVE’ a particularly fitting concept for this collection.
“The hidden SEVE icon is a distinctive detail that connects the official Ryder Cup emblem with that history in a subtle and meaningful way.”

Javier Ballesteros, president of the Seve Ballesteros Foundation, said: “My father understood what the Ryder Cup meant to European golf. He loved playing for Europe and believed completely in what the team could achieve.
“To see the SEVE icon placed behind the Ryder Cup emblem is very special for our family and the Foundation. It is understated, but the meaning is clear. His connection with the Ryder Cup remains part of his story and part of the competition’s history.”
The first Shield Collection drop is available through SEVE Collection’s e-commerce channels, with early access offered to the brand’s existing customer base. A limited selection will also be available through key retail stockists and point-of-sale locations.
Further Shield Collection releases will follow as SEVE Collection builds towards the 2027 Ryder Cup, which takes place at Adare Manor from September 13–19, 2027.
