Tickets to The 148th Open at Royal Portrush are now on general sale.  Fans can now take advantage of early bird prices for a limited time only until midnight on Sunday 5 August. From now, all tickets categories for The 148th Open can be purchased at TheOpen.com/PortrushTickets.

The 148th Open is heading to Northern Ireland for the first time in 68 years making it one of the most eagerly-anticipated sporting events to ever come to the island of Ireland. The Open has experienced unprecedented demand for tickets making The 148th Open the fastest selling Open Championship in history.

Thousands of fans have already secured their tickets for the event, ensuring they will be part of the biggest party in golf when The Open is hosted by Royal Portrush Golf Club from 14 – 21 July 2019 for the first time since 1951. 190,000 spectators are expected to attend The 148th Open and fans are advised to secure tickets well in advance to avoid disappointment as the event, for the first time in its history, is strictly all ticket.

Speaking about The 148th Open coming to Royal Portrush, Mayo Footballer and three-time All-Star Aidan O’Shea said: “I attended The Open for the first time at Carnoustie and was amazed by its scale and the overall experience. It was incredible how much golf you get to see, and how close you get to the players. It was clear from the moment I walked through the gates that a Major Championship is on a completely different level to any other tournament. I’m really excited The Open is coming to Northern Ireland. It will be an experience not to be missed and it’s great that the fans have the opportunity to secure their tickets with the Early Bird prices before 6th August.”

Fiona Coghlan, Former Irish Rugby Captain added: “It’s fantastic that The Open is coming to the links of Royal Portrush next year. I was fortunate enough to attend this year’s Open over in Carnoustie and the sheer size and overall experience of the tournament is truly spectacular. Sporting events of this stature in Ireland are few and far between, making this an unmissable opportunity for Irish sports fans to come and watch some of the world’s best golfers compete for a Major. Clearly that’s captured the imagination given the rush for tickets already and I’m sure The Open will attract fans of all sports from across Ireland and beyond.”

Adult daily tickets are available from £15 for practice days whilst kids under the age of 16 will be able to attend the Championship for free when attending with a paying adult. Those aged under 25 can purchase tickets at reduced prices and will benefit from the option to take up free accommodation at The Open Camping Village.
