On Monday morning, three new TaylorMade drivers landed on the R&A and USGA’s conforming list ahead of this week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on the DP World Tour.
Similar to the Qi35 driver lineup segmentation, the three Qi4D drivers on this list are as follows:
TaylorMade Qi4D
TaylorMade Qi4D LS
TaylorMade Qi4D Max
With the drivers hitting the conforming list today, they are all now eligible for players to use starting today. Given Rory McIlroy’s love-hate relationship with the current Qi35, speculation is now rife that McIlroy will game the new Qi4D in Abu Dhabi and at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. In 2021, TaylorMade unveiled an early release of its red-faced Stealth driver the week of the PNC Championship in mid-December that year, allowing Tiger to showcase it to the world.
According to the list, the Qi4D comes in lofts ranging from 8 to 12 degrees, while the Qi4D LS is available in 8, 9, and 10.5 degree lofts. The Max version includes lofts of nine, 10.5, and 12 degrees.
While we don’t yet know the tech details on the drivers, it’s evident that the Qi4D will probably be TaylorMade’s 2026 driver. The Qi4D appears to have a slightly smaller profile compared to the brand’s Qi35 model. The LS version features two four-gram weights in the heel and toe of the sole, while the Max version includes a 15-gram forward weight and a back weight port.
