Lauren Walsh will take a one-shot lead into the final round of strokeplay at the NCAA D1 Women’s Championship after firing back-to-back 67s.

Walsh leads on ten-under-par which us the lowest score after 36 holes in Grayhawk Golf Club with Wake Forest sitting top of the team leaderboard the halfway stage.

After Sunday’s third round the 54-hole cut will reduce the field to 15 teams and the nine top individuals on non advancing teams.

Walsh opened her account with the lowest 18-hole score of any women’s team since the Championship has been held at Grayhawk Golf Club and the lowest 18-hole championship score sine 2019.

The highlight of her opening round was four successive birdies before the turn and she continued to demolish the front nine in round two with three birdies and an eagle.

Walsh has five top five finishes this season and eight total in her Wake Forest career.

Douglas’ Sara Byrne of Miami is 77th on four-over while LSU’s Aine Donegan is six shots further back.
