A few weeks ago Shane Lowry slipped outside the top-50 in the Official World Golf Rankings for the first time in over five years.

With that, doors began to close, among them the PGA Tour Signature events which ironically he was invited to last week.

A Masters appearance in April was guaranteed due to his Open Championship winning exemption but beyond that the future was beginning to look unclear.

However, finishes of fourth and third in successive weeks have seen the Clara man rise back into the top-50 and he now resides at a comfortable 37th in the Official World Golf Rankings after a quick career turnaround.

Seamus Power’s best finish in eight months saw him rise to 101 in the world while Tom McKibbin’s second top-10 finish in three weeks saw him climb to a career-high 125th in the world rankings as he closes in on the top-100 and a potential place in the US PGA Championship in May.

Rory McIlroy remains 2nd in the world while Italian star Matteo Manassero has climbed 199 places to 182nd in the world following his comeback story win at the weekend.
