There were plenty of smiles at the end of the day but the job is only getting started for the Irish at Q-School as David Carey and Conor O’Rourke both progressed from Bogogno qualifying while JR Galbraith & Niall Kearney also progressed to Stage two from the qualifier at Frilford Heath.

Carey, a recent winner on the Alps Tour, led the qualifying at Bogogno heading to the final round and was the star performer as he maintained his position on top of the leaderboard, albeit finishing in a share of first place alongside American Justin Hicks, following a final round of 69 which added to his opening rounds of 66, 61 and 68 for a 264 total (-24).

Conor O’Rourke went one shot better with a 68 on the last day to move him up into a tie for 7th place on the final leaderboard on 273 (-15) and he also finds himself progressing on to Stage two.

At Frilford Heath JR Galbraith finished with a closing 69 to move him up into joint third place on 279 (-9) while 72 blows was enough for Niall Kearney to seal his spot at Stage two as he finished in a tie for tenth position on 282 (-6).
