It was a disappointing second day for Naas’ Conor O’Rourke at Q School in Frilford Heath as he followed up his opening 68 with a disappointing 74 to leave him on two under par and in a tie for 15th place.

However, round two saw Colin Fairweather shoot the low round of the day with a 66 which catapulted him 43 places up the leaderboard to tied 6th on four under par and he now is just three shots off the lead.

Dermot McElroy also moved up the leaderboard with a round of 70 which has him in T19 on one under while Niall Kearney added a 71 to his opening 75 which leaves him in T41 on two over.

Tullamore’s Stuart Grehan, who turned professional last week is hoping for great things but his opening 76 left him a lot to do. He made some ground with a second round 71 and he is currently in T49 on three over.

Meanwhile, Brian McElhinney slumped to a 78 to combine with his first round 74 to lie on +8 and in T77th where he is joined by Chris Selfridge who carded a second successive 76. It was a day to forget for Kevin Le Blanc as he returned an 83 to add to his opening 80.
