Whitehead’s John Ross Galbraith has safely made his way through the First Stage of the European Tour Qualifying School Section A qualifer in Scotland.

Galbraith added a final round one-under 71 to his third round 71 and brace of opening 70s to share 11th place on six under par at The Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course in Kelso, where the top 20 and ties progressed to the Second Stage.

Colm Moriarty had started the day in a tie for 16th right on the qualifying mark but carded a 73 that dropped the Glasson professional back to a tie for 31st on two under par total.

Headfort’s Joe Dillon (77-75-77, 229) and Castlewarden’s Mark Whelan (73-80-77, 230) missed the 54-hole cut.
