Beth Coulter carded back to back rounds of 70 to lie in solo fifth place at the halfway stage of the European Ladies Amateur Championship in Sweden.
Coulter is on two-under-par, just three shots off the pace set by Savannah De Bock of Belgium who plays out of Royal Waterloo where the recent European Team Championships were held.
The Kirkistown Castle native started well with two birdies in five holes before a run of nine successive pars was arrested by a bogey on 15, a birdie on 17 and a disappointing bogey six on the par-5 18th.
Hermitage’s Kate Lanigan is the next best of the Irish in a share of 22nd on three-over after a second round 75 while Lahinch’s Aine Donegan is two shots further back.
The cut is set to fall at plus eight with the top-60 and ties progressing into Saturday’s final round with Anna Foster and Rebekah Gardner battling to stick around.
