Off the back of two fantastic victories at the McEvoy Trophy and just last week at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, Holywood’s Tom McKibbin kept his hot streak going at the Lytham Trophy where he finished as the leading Irish player.

16-year-old McKibbin closed with rounds of 71 and 72 to finish in 6th position just three shots off the overall winning score of Joshua McMahon (Wallasey) who won by one stroke from Austria’s Gerald Folk, with Mallow’s James Sugrue next best of the Irish in T14 place.

Of Ireland’s other representatives, Massereene’s Tiarnan McLarnon carded rounds of 78 & 73 today to finish in 19th while Naas’ Robert Brazill, who had been leading the Irish charge at the start of the day returned rounds of 76 & 78 to tie with Galway’s Ronan Mullarney on 299 in T24 place.
