Naas CBS bested all in difficult conditions to claim the Irish Schools Junior Championship at Portstewart Golf Club on Wednesday.

There was no stopping the team of 5 handicapper, Darragh Behan, 8 handicapper Andrew Curran and 4 handicapper Eoin Freeman who edged out St Colman’s College, despite pushing the Kildare school all the way in the final.

In the end their 79 point total was enough to see off St Colman’s by two points, while Summerhill College (70) and Bangor Grammar (61) struggled to keep pace with the leading two teams.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday in the Senior championship, big wins for Aaron Marshall (7&6) and Darcy Hogg (7&5) along with a 1UP win for Josh Robinson sealed a comfortable victory for RBAI over Blackrock.

Congratulations to both RBAI and Naas on their national wins. No doubt the school holidays will be extended after such brilliant achievements!
