Olivia Mehaffey continues to show some fantastic form for Arizona State and claimed a Top 5 finish at the 2018 Pac-12 Championships and in the process helped her Sun Devils team a T5 place yesterday.
Mehaffey, who suffered some a bout of stomach flu during the tournament, returned rounds of 69, 74 and 71 to take tied 5th place, moving up four places from her overnight position.
“We are very pleased with the effort and determination of this team, led by our seniors Roberta [Liti] and Sophia [Zeeb],” said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. “A top-five finish in the best conference for women’s golf is a solid achievement.”
“Olivia [Mehaffey]’s top-five this week while battling the flu was nothing short of miraculous. Raquel had her best round of the year today while Madison played very well the first two days,” added Farr-Kaye.
The team are now headed to the NCAA Regionals and will find out today where they’ll compete with the other 71 teams after which 24 teams and 12 individuals will advance to the NCAA Finals later in May.
