Ireland’s Leona Maguire grabbed her 31st Top 10 finish in Duke Colours while Olivia Mehaffey made big waves for Arizona State at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate over the weekend as she finished in 15th place.
Maguire, who needs just one more Top 10 to tie Duke’s Lindy Duncan on the Blue Devils All-Time charts, carded rounds of 72, 74 and 72 to take the top 10 place, finishing just eight shots off the overall winner, Maria Fassi from Arkansas. Mehaffey meanwhile, opened with a blistering 66 which saw her lead the tournament on day one but endured a difficult second round 79, followed by a final round 75 which saw her slip down the pecking order to T15th place.
Lisa Maguire finished in T46 after a 76, 75, 76 showing and Julie McCarthy T56 following her 75, 78,76 returns.
The team event was won by Alabama with Duke University (Leona & Lisa Maguire) in 4th place and Julie McCarthy’s Auburn University in 7th with Arizona State (Olivia Mehaffey) in 14th.
