Robin Dawson endured a difficult final day at Kingswood Golf Estate.

On a difficult day for scoring it wasn’t the best closing day for the Irish at the South African Amateur Strokeplay in George. Robin Dawson, having led the tournament overnight, finished three over for the day and was edged into second place by Edgar Catherine from France who won by two strokes on a total score of eleven under for the tournament.

Alex Gleeson (Castle) posted a good round as he carded a level par final round to finish on a -2 total into a tie for 11th place. JR Galbraith (Whitehead) finished T14 on -1 after a six over par final day score while Colin Fairweather (Knock) shot one under and finished on level par and T17.

Stuart Grehan also shot one under and finished on +1 for the tournament and T21 with Kevin Le Blanc (The Island)  T36 and Colm Campbell (Warrenpoint) T58 completing the Irish interest.
