Hugh Foley is just two shots off the lead and tied for second place going into the final round of the Alps Tour’s Hauts de France–Pas de Calais Open.
The Royal Dublin man, who turned pro at the end of 2024, fired a five-under 66 to move to six-under overall on a tough day of scoring in north-western France, matching the low-round of the day and he’s part of a three-way tie for second place with only Alexandre Vandermoten ahead.
Foley, who started his round on the 10th, did most of his hard work over the final nine holes having reached the turn at level-par. Five birdies and no bogeys saw him charge up the leaderboard and he’ll be hoping for more of the same in the final round as he looks to secure his first tour victory.
Vandermoten, who already has three Alps Tour victories in 2026, is looking for back-to-back titles having sealed his promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour with last week’s success on home soil at the Longwy Alps Open.
Sam Murphy is the only other Irishman to make the cut after an up-and-down day that resulted in a level-par 71 and sees him tied for 21st at -1.
Robert Moran shot a one-under round of 70 but it wasn’t enough to lift him inside the cutline.
Foley will play in the final group alongside Vandermoten and Victor Garcia Broto of Spain.
