Druids Glen is set to open a new chapter in the club’s history with the staging of its first ever Senior Scratch Cup on Friday, September 11.
The County Wicklow resort first opened its fairways in 1995 and played host to four consecutive Irish Opens from 1996 to 1999 and saw legendary European Tour players and Ryder Cup stars such as Colin Montgomerie and Sergio Garcia crowned champions.
It’s picturesque setting and the floral backdrop on many holes quickly drew comparisons with Augusta National and the stretch of holes from 12 to 14 was dubbed Ireland’s ‘Amen Corner’.
An extensive renovation project was completed in 2023, putting the venue right back at the top table of Irish parkland golf.
The Senior Scratch Cup is played off Druid’s Glen’s Gold Tees which measure 7,222 yards with a fee of €100 per entry for visitors with a handicap of 2.4 or lower.
