In more good golf news, Flogas have confirmed a continued support of Vision Ireland and the Holmpatrick & Granard Cups for 2026 and they have been joined by The K Club with a new prize sponsorship partnership.
The historic Holmpatrick Cup established in 1932, and Granard Cup established in 1933, are two of the longest running charity club competitions in Ireland and remain firmly on club calendars all over Ireland.
Thanks to the incredible support of over 220 golf clubs across the country in 2025 over €100,000 was raised to support Vision Ireland’s vital services for people living with sight loss. Last year’s Holmpatrick Cup winners Strandhill Golf Club and Granard Cup winners Waterford Golf Club will be returning to try to retain these coveted trophies.
New for 2026, thanks to the generous support of The K Club, participating ladies’ and men’s clubs will also have the opportunity to win two four-balls for their club/committee on the renowned South Course. Separate ladies’ and men’s draws will take place, with every club who raises €400 or over gaining entry into this fabulous prize.
This year over 150 Clubs around the country have already signed up with entry open until the middle of August 2026. Taking part is easy, clubs around the four provinces in Ireland dedicate one of their club competitions to the Men’s Holmpatrick Cup or the Ladies Granard Cup. All entry fees are donated directly to Vision Ireland. The winning pair from each competition go through to their regional final taking place on the following dates:
18th of August – Woodstock Golf Club and Country Club Ennis – Munster Regional
24th of August – Millicent Golf Club – Leinster Regional
27th of August – Donabate Golf Club – Dublin Regional
1st of September – Athenry Golf Club – Connaught Regional
17th of September – Grand Final – Mullingar Golf Club
The winning men’s and ladies pair of the grand final will enjoy a golfer’s trip of a lifetime where they will be flown to Scotland, transferred to the historic St. Andrews where they will stay for three nights at the magnificent Rusacks Hotel. They will then play three of the outstanding St Andrew’s Golf Courses.
