Cameron Clark will go into the final round of the Staysure Legends Tour’s European Legends Cup in a tie for 11th after following his opening 69 with a two-under round of 70.
The Ballymena man has yet to finish higher than 15th in his rookie season on the European seniors circuit, but his results have been steadily improving and a high finish at Fontanals Golf would go a long way to securing his playing rights for 2027.
He reached the turn at +1 for the day after an early birdie was cancelled out by two bogeys, but a rollercoaster back nine saw him make five birdies and two bogeys to end the day on five-under overall.
Gary Murphy, who began the day at two-under, fell outside the top 20 after a one-over 73 that included three bogeys and a birdie in his final five holes.
Bradley Dredge will take a one-shot lead into the final round after a closing birdie moved him clear of Steve Webster at Fontanals Golf.
The Welshman, a two-time DP World Tour winner, followed his opening 65 with a second consecutive bogey-free round, carding a four-under-par 68 to reach 11-under-par as the Staysure Legends Tour heads into the final day of its latest stop in Spain.
Webster produced the round of the day to surge into contention, firing an eight-under-par 64 to climb from eight shots back and briefly join Dredge at the top on 10 – under.
The 2025 Grass & Co English Legends champion’s charge included a memorable birdie at the 10th, where he holed out from the greenside bunker using his putter, before making eagle at the par-five 13th after hitting his approach from 250 yards to three feet.
Dredge responded late in the day, producing a superb approach into the 18th which pitched just inches from the hole before converting the birdie to regain the outright lead heading into Sunday.
