Damian Mooney and Tim Rice couldn’t separate themselves as they shared the victory at the Rathfarnham Pro-Am.

Both players were tied at the top on five-under-par after rounds of 64 at Rathfarmham Golf Club, three shots clear of Niall Kearney who had flown in from playing on the Clutch Pro Tour.

It’s a first win of the 2025 campaign for Mooney while Rice picks up his second victory and continues his strong defence of his ELAVON ORDER OF MERIT title.

Mooney of Lough Erne opened his account with a birdie at the first before handing the shot back at the third.

Back to back birdies on the sixth and seventh saw him turn in a couple under par although he didn’t seem like he would threaten the podium spots when he dropped a shot at the eleventh.

However, he found his groove with three birdies in a row from the 12th and added another on the par-5 17th to set the clubhouse lead.

There is more than one way to shoot a score and Limerick’s Rice proved that with a blemish free 64.

Rice eagled the par-5 4th to get things going in the right direction and he added a birdie on the ninth.

Rice added further birdies on the 13th and 17th to leap alongside Mooney at the summit and grab a share of the spoils.

On a day of tricky weather Michael McGeady, Brendan McGovern, Cian Geraghty and Richard Kilpatrick rounded off the under-par scoring with rounds of 68.
