England’s Bronte Law fired a phenomenal final round of 64 (-9) to come from behind and clinch a three-shot victory on a low scoring final day in Morocco.
The Stockport born golfer got off to a hot start rolling in a birdie on the first before dropping a shot on the next.
Law didn’t let that stop her as she powered her way into the lead by carding eight birdies, one eagle and one bogey in the next 16 holes to take her third LET victory.
Speaking about her whirlwind final day, Law who won the 2018 Q School in Morocco said: “I think I should come back to Morocco more often, I’m very happy to come back and win. This win feels a little bit surreal.
“I held out on 14 from the fairway for an eagle and at that moment I thought there was a chance if I kept making birdies. That was the turning point.”
Bronte’s last victory came in 2022 at the Aramco Team Series-London (Individual) and she spoke openly about struggling mentally on the course and believing in her ability to win again.
“This win represents all the hard work that I did in the off season.
“I really struggled last year and have done a lot of work with my mental coach and Ian Wisdom who is obviously a legend of the game.
“This proves that when I put the hard work in and when I believe in myself that I can still compete at the very top of my game.
Law is soon flying out to Madrid so she can get home by tomorrow to celebrate and she was keen to dedicate this win to her family and their enduring support.
“I was out on my own this week, my family couldn’t come, my phone is blowing up right now with messages. But this one is for all the family.”
France’s Pauline Roussin-Bouchard was the runner up on ten-under-par after rounds of 71, 67 and 71.
Whilst the overnight leader Mexico’s Maria Fassi and Spain’s Fatima Fernandez Cano tied for third on nine-under-par.
India’s Pranavi Urs sits in solo fifth on eight-under-par with Czech Republic’s Sara Kouskova one shot behind in sixth.
Home favourite Ines Laklalech finished the tournament in seventh alongside Norway’s Madelene Stavnar whilst Diksha Dagar finished 9th.
Denmark’s Nicole Broch Estrup, Spain’s Teresa Toscano and LET Access Series graduate Switzerland’s Elena Moosmann rounded out the top 10 on four-under-par.
A final round charge never materialised for Lauren Walsh who settled for another solid week with a T24 finish on one-under after a 74 while Olivia Mehaffey was nine-over.
The LET has a week off before heading to Florida for the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Tampa which takes place from March 8-10.
