Tyrell Hatton, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele are now all odds-on to join LIV before the 2024 season tees off, with Hatton red-hot favourite at odds of 1/4 with BoyleSports.
Confidence is growing in LIV quarters that they can continue to lure top golfers away from the PGA, with LIV Golf CEO, Greg Norman, making positive noises about more headline recruits. Jon Rahm was the latest defector from the PGA Tour, signing an agreement with the Saudi-backed outfit for a reported $500million.
Top of the betting to join Rahm in the controversial Saudi league is Tyrell Hatton, who is now 1/4 to start a new life in the Middle East, having been 7/4 earlier in the week. Fan favourite Rickie Fowler has seen his odds slashed to 6/4 from 6/1, although Tony Finau, a six-time PGA Tour winner, has drifted to 10/1 from 7/4 after committing his future to the PGA.
Likely top of the LIV wish list are stars including Viktor Hovland and Tommy Fleetwood, both priced at 4/1 with BoyleSports and as the roster continues to grow, it is now 1/3 for a LIV golfer to strike gold and win a major in 2024.
Long-term denouncer of the Saudi league, Rory McIlroy, remains a 50/1 shot while Shane Lowry is also unlikely to take the road to Riyadh at odds of 10/1.
