Maynooth University’s Eoin Murphy was the best of the Irish on the final day of the 15th King Hamad Trophy.

The Dundalk man was five shots off the lead heading into the final day and in fourth place, but a final round 76 saw him slip down the leaderboard and settle for a share of 14th position on level-par.

Things were going well for Murphy who was one-under for the day through eleven holes but a bogey on twelve, a double bogey on 15, a bogey on 16 and a bogey on 18 completed a nasty back nine of 39.

Athenry’s David Kitt carded a final round 77 to finish on two-over and claim 24th place with Simon Walker (Roscommon) a shot further back.
