The Irish Golf Tour Operator Association (IGTOA) was excited to unveil its annual flagship event, the 2023 Annual Conference and Gala Ball, set to take place on October 8th & 9th in the captivating setting of the Slieve Donard Hotel  and Royal County Down Golf Club Newcastle, County Down.

The IGTOA Conference and Gala Ball has evolved into a premier platform that brings together key players within the Irish tourism industry. With a strong focus on golf and tourism, this year’s conference aims to inspire, educate, and foster collaboration among stakeholders dedicated to enhancing Ireland’s tourism appeal through its world-class golf offerings.  With the aim to elevate Ireland’s status as a premier destination for golf enthusiasts while fostering sustainable tourism practices.  Attendees will take the stage to explore how the fusion of golf and tourism can drive sustainable growth, elevate customer experiences, and contribute to local economies.

Chairperson of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Cllr Valerie Harte stated “We are delighted that the IGTOA have chosen our destination to hold such a prestigious event and were further delighted to be one of the event sponsors.  Council is thrilled to be able to provide such a unique platform to showcase the destinations reputation as a golfing haven and tourism gem. Attendees will have the chance to explore the rich culture, warm hospitality, and breathtaking landscapes that our destination has to offer”.

IGTOA Executive Director Barry Maye explained “We are absolutely thrilled to bring this annual event back to the Slieve Donard Hotel and Royal County Down, and specifically to the Mourne Mountains and Ring of Gullion destination. This location is a perfect blend of natural beauty and world class golf courses, making it an ideal backdrop for our discussions on enhancing golf tourism on the  island of Ireland.”

The event’s centrepiece, the IGTOA Gala Ball on the evening of October 9th, is an unforgettable celebration of Irish tourism. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect in a convivial atmosphere, share insights, and toast to collective achievements. The evening will be a blend of fine dining, entertainment, and camaraderie, all set amidst the stunning surroundings of Newcastle.
