The Winter Series will take place every Tuesday morning at the Kildare resort from October 4th and will offer golfers the opportunity to compete on the Palmer North and Palmer South championship-length courses until December 13. The format of the series is singles strokes with three gross and three net prizes every week. It is open to both male and female professionals and amateurs with a handicap limit of 9.
Speaking of the new winter series, The K Club’s Golf Director, Conor Russell said: “We are delighted to announce details of our upcoming Winter Series at The K Club. Major renovation works carried out on the Palmer North fairways earlier this year, have resulted in a golf course that is now primed and ready for the colder months ahead.
“Having hosted the Irish Challenge this summer, along with numerous Pro-Ams over the past two years, we have proudly reclaimed our place as one of the top host venues in the country for tournament golf. With the well-placed investment in both of our courses, we are happy to continue that run of tournaments into the winter season.”
Host of the Ryder Cup in 2006, The K Club is an iconic name in international golf, having also been home to the 2016 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, and 13 European Opens.
The Winter Series entry fee is €50 for professionals and €75 for amateurs. For further information on The Palmer Winter Series, visit www.kclub.ie/palmer-series-competition.html
