Liam Grehan put behind last week’s disqualification in style with a five-under 67 in the Clutch Pro Tour Challenge Series 2 at Frilford Heath.

Grehan was disqualified last week for signing an incorrect score card but bounced back with aplomb to move to within three of the first round lead.

The K Club pro trails England’s Max Orrin who shot a blistering eight-under 64.

Grehan has been in very good form and he continued that with a blistering stretch of three birdies in four holes on his front nine before a dropped shot saw him turn in 34.

The Irishman returned to -3 with a birdie on eleven before three birdies in four holes on the 14th, 15th and 17th saw him soar to six-under.

Unfortunately he carded his second bogey of the day on 18 to fall three adrift of Orrin but it was still a great effort and he will fancy his chances of winning on Wednesday.
