Anna Foster’s Auburn are on course to make the third-round cut after they moved up to third place after two rounds of the NCAA DI Women’s Golf Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club.

Foster is also flying high in the individual leaderboard in a cosy share of 19th place on three-over.

The Elm Park golfer birdied the 18th to fire a one-under 71.

The 2021 Irish Close champion traded four birdies and three bogeys on her way around in Scottsdale and had started well picking up shots on the second and seventh before a bogey on 9 saw her turn in 35.

A birdie on the tenth moved her to two-under for the round but dropped shots on 12 and 17 threatened to ruin a good day but she finished with a flourish.

Foster is the leading Irish player in the individual standings and trails Stanford’s Rose Zhang by nine shots.

Wake Forest have been the standard bearers throughout the season so far, winning the ACC Championship last month but they are faced with a different challenge heading into the final round.

The Deacs (+29) are currently in 16th place, two shots behind Virginia who occupy the final spot.

Wake Forest currently have just one player in the top-30 in the individual standings while Lauren Walsh shares 82nd on plus ten.

The Castlewarden native carded a six-over 78 that included five bogeys, a double and just the one birdie arriving at the 8th hole.

Host Arizona State (+2/290) looked at home today, recording the second-best round on Saturday to leap into a Top-8 spot. Head Coach Missy Farr-Kaye‘s team improved their score by 12 strokes to ascend eight spots and into a tie for eighth. The Sun Devils are in a great position to make the Top-15 cut.

“We played better today and the conditions certainly helped,” Coach Farr-Kaye remarked. “Ashley did a great job of leading us and Calynne remained strong. There are still a few things we need to work on, but it was encouraging to see progress today.”

Ashley Menne continues to thrive at the NCAA Championship, delivering yet another terrific performance at Grayhawk Golf Club. She carded a 68 (-4), matching the best round of the day by any golfer. It is her second-best round at the NCAA Championship (65 in 3rd round last year), having previously finished fourth back in the 2021 event. Menne made an incredible climb up the leaderboard, moving up 77 spots and into a tie for 16th. She is not the only Sun Devil that finds themselves in the Top-20, as Calynne Rosholt also occupies a spot. Rosholt is tied for 19th and ended her day with a birdie on 18.

ASU will be paired with Florida State and USC, starting the third round on the 1st hole at 7:25 AM MST once again. Visit Golfstat for live scoring throughout the tournament.
