The momentum behind the Play in Pink movement is gathering pace in 2022 with Lahinch Golf Club one of the latest to line out in aid of Breast Cancer Research.

An outstanding €14,600 was raised on the day as members and management at the County Clare club donned their finest pink outfits in support of the fight against a disease so close to all of our hearts.

Lady Captain Margaret Cooney alongside trusty lieutenants Lynn Slattery and Mary Lucas organised a brilliant day from start to finish, a day also made possible by the generous support of sponsors as everyone rowed in behind a mission to fight cancer, including many men in flamingo pink ensuring a full time sheet all day.

If you’re unfamiliar with this brilliant initiative, Play in Pink returned to Irish fairways this term off the back of a record breaking year in 2021 where over €405,000 was raised for The National Breast Cancer Research Institute.

Clubs like Beaufort, Faithlegg, St Margaret’s, Muskerry, The K Club and Letterkenny all joined the Play in Pink brigade last year and the initiative is always on the lookout for newcomers.
