O’Connor appointed Head Pro at Moyvalley

Daniel O’Connor, the new Head Professional at Moyvalley Hotel and Golf Resort in County Kildare

Moyvalley Hotel and Golf Resort in County Kildare have appointed Daniel O’Connor as the club’s new Head Professional. The 28-year-old joins the resort following his return to Ireland from Canada where he was Associate Golf Professional at McCleery Golf Course in Vancouver.

O’Connor, a former Paddy Harrington Golf Scholar at Maynooth University, completed his qualifications as a PGA Professional under the guidance of Kevin Grealy at Athlone.

Speaking about his appointment, O’Connor said: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at Moyvalley and I’m excited to take on this role. The practice facilities are some of the best around and with a growing membership there’s huge potential for the club and resort.”

Alan Kelly, Golf Operations Manager welcomed him to the resort, saying: “We are excited to bring Daniel to Moyvalley and we look forward to working with him to expand our services and offerings to members and visitors alike.”

Daniel has represented Connacht at boys interprovincial level and is a medal winner in the All-Ireland AIG Senior Cup with Athlone.

Moyvalley jumped four places to 72 on our Top 100 Courses in Ireland list for 2022. From all the team here at IGM, best of luck in the new role, Daniel!
