The Ronald McDonald House Charity has rescheduled its exciting annual golf classic at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club for Friday, September 17 to help raise funds for their work in aiding the families of Ireland’s seriously ill children.
The Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation, care and support to families whose children are seriously ill and are hospitalised, or undergoing medical treatment on a long-term basis. At the Ronald McDonald House, they help families by providing them with somewhere to sleep, eat, wash, park etc, all those practical things that are required but so often forgotten when a child is in hospital for a long period of time.
With lengthy waiting lists, the Ronald McDonald House Charity has been granted planning permission to build a new 53 Bedroom House at the New Children’s Hospital in St. James, Dublin in 2023. The New Children’s Hospital is the most significant capital investment project ever undertaken in healthcare in Ireland and The Ronald McDonald House will be an integral part of the New Hospital.
With work well underway on the New Children’s Hospital, they have the fortunate opportunity to build a new home for all the families of Ireland’s most seriously ill children – a home that will touch the lives of thousands of seriously ill children and their families for generations to come.
To help raise much needed funds the charity runs an annual golf classic at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club. Originally scheduled for this month, the new date for your diary is September 17 and subject to Covid restrictions, includes food, golf, prizes and plenty of craic. Teams can be booked for a fee of €1000 for a fourball and there are also a host of sponsorship opportunities for tee boxes and prizes etc.
With ever decreasing levels of funding available for charities and more pressure on them than ever before if you can afford to take part they’d be more than grateful but even if you can’t and want to donate something for the day or contribute financially, all help is gratefully received.
