Stephanie Meadow reeled off two straight birdies to close out her round and cruise into the weekend mix at the LPGA Tour’s Marathon Classic.

After making the 36-hole cut at least week’s Tour resumption at the Drive On Championship, the Jordanstown professional seems to be finding her groove at the aptly named Highland Meadows course.

Meadow posted five birdies overall with three dropped shots on her card but the rousing birdie-birdie finish saw her reach four-under par, good enough for a share of 19th, though trailing the top of the board by a full nine strokes ahead of moving day in Ohio.

That’s because former women’s number one, Lydia Ko is motoring along at a sprint at this week’s Marathon Classic.

Ko reeled off four straight birdies to start her round and finished with birdies on her last two holes also for a six-under 65 and a 13-under total.

Ko is a two-time winner at Highland Meadows and is looking to end her winless run having not tasted victory in her last 44 events worldwide, dropping her to No. 55 in the world.
