Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow endured contrasting second rounds at the LPGA Drive On Championship as they both made it into the weekend on the cut line.

Meadow will hit the first ball of round three today after a second round of 72 saw her make the cut on the number at level-par alongside Maguire who carded a round of 69.

Meadow finished with back-to-back birdies while Maguire was four-over after ten holes before birdies at the 11th, 14th, 15th and 17th saw her claw her way into the weekend.

At the top, it’s Nelly Korda by two after a round of 67 saw her reach ten-udner-par with So Mi Lee at eight-under.

Korda’s 2023 was hampered by injury as she suffered a winless year on the LPGA Tour but a first title since 2022 appears to be within touching distance and she drew a big roar after a closing birdie on the par-3 9th.

“It’s honestly such a cool feeling,” Korda said. “Today when we teed off, we had a really big crowd going down 1 too. I’ve definitely felt a lot of support. Hopefully I can bring out more family and friends this weekend too to become louder.”

Korda finished with a flourish, birdieing three of her last four holes as she took advantage of the par fives coming in, birdieing all three during her round.

“I just knew that I could probably take advantage of the two par-5s. I knew I had two par-5s coming up, and if I had good drives, they’re both reachable,” Korda said. “Everyone is going to make mistakes. It’s all just about minimizing it.”
