Dawson makes his move at Q-School Stage II

Robin Dawson was the big winner from an Irish perspective today across the various venues at Stage II of European Tour Q-School as he catapulted himself into contention to make the final stage with a superb six under par round at El Encin which sees him in T9 position.

At the same venue Cormac Sharvin followed up his superb opening round with a one over par second day which has him in T45 place, while Neil O’Briain was level par for todays efforts and sits in T51st.
 
At Desert Springs Jonathan Caldwell was the biggest mover of the Irish faces as he carded five birdies and no bogeys in his round of 67, to propel him up the leaderboard to T35 position on -3 overall, one shot behind leading Irishmen Gary Hurley, who followed up his 65 yesterday with a rollercoaster 73 today, and Gavin Moynihan who returned a two under par round of 70 which included five birdies one bogey and a double bogey and both are T23.
 
After his 75 yesterday, Kevin Phelan got things back on track a little  but a double bogey on the final hole put paid to his good round.
 
At Las Colinas Cameron Raymond and Ruaidhri McGee have plenty to do tomorrow if they are to progress as McGee recorded a over over par 72, including a double bogey on the last, to sit in T50 position, while Raymond did a little better with a one under par round but he is still sufferering from the effects of an opening 75.
 
Meanwhile, Alenda wasn’t kind to Conor O’Rourke as he recored sixteen pars and two bogeys today to leave him well down the leaderboard in T57 position.
