Buy local this Christmas and support your PGA professional

Must read

If you don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing at all

At 8pm on Thursday around Ireland, you could feel the love as people showed their appreciation for our frontline workers. Let's make this atmosphere a reality in our virtual world too #staysafe #covid19

Tackling the question; has golf been the world’s worst-coached game?

There is a growing army of enlightened coaches out there who have moved from simple swing developers to performance-focused experts, adept in all the different aspects of the game

When any fix will do

For some of us, there's just no substitute for live sport and with golf postponed for the foreseeable, people are willing to give just about anything a shot to get their fix #COVID-19

Is golf in the Republic next to fall in the COVID-19 battle?

Those in charge of grassroots golf in the UK and Northern Ireland have called on courses to temporarily close their gates to the casual golfer. Is the Republic of Ireland next?

It’s not just what you buy, but where you buy it that can make a big difference this Christmas.

The last weekend before Christmas is a big one for retails as Santa checks his lists and friends and families figure out what to buy for their loved ones.

This year we’d like to ask you to take a minute to consider not just what you’re buying, but where you’re buying it.
Yes, there are plenty of deals online and that’s a pretty convenient way to do things these days, but think about what that’s doing to your local community and particularly to your local PGA professional.

We’re not saying that you should only buy local, but if you make a conscious decision to buy say 20% locally you’d make a big difference in your community and you’d be supporting people who are always there for you when you need them.

Your local PGA Professional is facing into another hard winter and would welcome you with open arms into their shop. They’re usually happy to do a deal with you, have you as a customer and you’ll be making a positive contribution not only to your local area but to the game you love (not to mention keeping the golfer in your life happy).

So please, take a minute to think about where your hard earned Euros are being spent in the coming days and try to support local businesses wherever you can.
