It’s singles day at the PGA Cup in Foxhills and the GB&I team take in a one point lead over their American counterparts as the score stands at 8.5 to 7.5.

Holding a one point lead heading into the Saturday sessions the GB&I team will have been full of confidence and the Saturday morning fourballs will have further enhanced their mood as they took three of the four available points to hold a three point lead before the afternoon foursomes.

For Irish representatives David Higgins and Damien McGrane it was another strong performance as Higgins was paired with Christopher Currie and won 4&3 while McGrane was out with Christopher McDonnell and they won 2&1.

In the afternoon session though the Americans came out of the blocks with something to prove and reversed the morning score as they returned a 3-1 victory to narrow the gap back to just one point heading into the Sunday Singles. Higgins and McGrane were paired together in the afternoon but were defeated 4&2, but with 10 points up for grabs today the match now hangs in the balance.

The singles sees McGrane drawn in the top match against America’s Mark Brown while Higgins finds himself in the anchor match at the bottom of the draw against Adam Rainaud.

Best of luck guys.
