Roscommon’s Olivia Costello impressed on day two of the Scottish Girls Championship as a four-under 69 maintained her challenge.

Costello lies in second on six-under-par after she was bumped out of a share of the lead by England’s Zara Ali courtesy of a lie birdie and a 68.

Costello put on a fighting finish with three birdies in her last five holes to keep her challenge on track heading into the final day.

The teenager had opened with a birdie before dropping shots on 4 and 13 either side of birdies on 7 and 11.

The round of the day was a blistering 66 from Swiss girl, Carina Stauffer.

Roisin Scanlon moved into the top-30 with a one-under 72 for a four-over total through 36 holes.

Gemma McMeekin is plus twelve.
