Lauren Walsh saw her excellent recent performances rewarded as she scooped the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Golfer of the Month for February.
The Castlewarden native registered two top five finishes last month including a runner-up at the Nexus Collegiate and a share of fourth at the UCF Challenge in Orlando.
Both of Walsh’s showings helped Wake Forest win back-to-back team titles to open the spring season.
The two-time Curtis Cup star has been free scoring of late with three successive rounds in the 60s at the UCF Challenge including a bogey-free final round to take her birdie tally to 14 for 54 holes.
Walsh now in her senior year is still looking for a first win on US soil but posted her best finish at the Nexus Collegiate where she was one of just two players to shoot under-par for the three rounds.
