Jonathan Yates finished runner-up at the Nassau Invitational in New York, losing out to leading qualifier Trevor Randolph 5&4 in the final on Sunday evening (8 October).

Yates was just one shot behind Randolph in stroke play qualifying and progressed to the final following wins over Matt Rendell (4&3), Jonathan Jeter (3&2) and Jay Card (2&1). Flogas Irish Amateur Open Champion Peter O’Keeffe bowed out in the quarter-finals when he was beaten by Randolph.
