Royal Tara Golf Club was the host of the Revive Active Fourball National Finals where Lucan, Ballybunion, Killymoon and Portumna are this year’s semi-finalists.

In the first of the semi-finals, first honours went to Dublin GAA star Kate Whyte and her partner Anne Seymour when the Lucan pair overcame Diane McIvor and Avril Marshall of Killymoon. However, despite Lucan being ahead in 4 of the 5 matches through 12 holes, Killymoon never lost faith. With two matches already culminating on the 18th green in favour of the Ulster club, Colleen Conway broke Lucan hearts when she confidently 2 putted from 20 feet, enough for a 2-hole victory and a place in the Revive Active Fourball National Final.

2015 National Fourball winners Ballybunion faced Western Champions Portumna in the second semi-final. Fresh from her win with Ireland at the Senior Women’s Home Internationals during the week, Suzanne Corcoran and partner Mary McElroy carded a 3&2 victory for the Portumna side, but Ballybunion ensured the match was quickly level again when Gilmore and O’Connell won by the same margin moments later. The fourth pairing of Joyce and O’Donoghue made easy work of their match, closing it out on the 12th green which left two matches to be decided. Catriona Corrigan & Pudge O’Reilly claimed the winning point when they won the 16th and 17th holes leaving the middle match to be called-in and declared a half.
