O’Rourke is in T6 position on -5 and is just three shots off the pace set by Italy’s Lorenzo Scales. Robin Dawson (Tramore) is next best on -4 (T9) while Paul McBride (The Island) Thomas Mulligan (Laytown & Bettystown), Colm Campbell (Warrenpoint) and Stuart Grehan (Tullamore) are all on -2 and tied in 30th place.

Conor Purcell (Portmarnock) is T62 on level par alongside Jonathan Yates (Naas) with Alex Gleeson (Castle) T76 on one over par and John Ross Galbraith (Whitehead) in 106th on +3.

The second round is played today with a cut for the top 60 and ties coming after round three as those players take on the final round on Saturday so there is a bit of ground to make up for some and we wish them the best of luck today.
